PET in New South Wales

New South Wales has 42 practices accredited for PET, spread over 36 towns and suburbs.

Outside the capital there are 19. That leaves large parts of New South Wales more than an hour from the nearest one, which is what the town pages below are for.

A PET scan is the scarcest scan in Australia — the scanners sit almost entirely in capital cities and a handful of large regional hospitals.

The towns and suburbs with PET include Westmead, Campbelltown, Wollongong, St Leonards, Gosford, Wahroonga, Concord West and Kingswood.

The heaviest concentrations are Westmead (three practices), Campbelltown (two practices), Wollongong (two practices), St Leonards (two practices) and Gosford (two practices). Outside those, most towns with PET have exactly one practice, which is worth knowing when you are weighing a wait against a drive.
