What this is

Find where to get your scan. scanfinder lists every imaging practice in Australia that holds current Medicare accreditation — what each one is accredited for, where it is, and how far it is from your town.

We hold 4,067 accredited imaging sites, of which 1,856 are places a referred patient can walk into (the rest are specialists' in-rooms equipment). 411 practices appear on the Australian Government's Medicare-eligible MRI list.

The question nobody else answers is the one that matters in regional Australia: there is no MRI in your town — where is the nearest one, and how far? That is what the town pages below do, using the statutory accreditation register rather than a clinic's marketing copy.

We do not publish prices. Nobody publishes reliable per-scan prices in Australia, and a plausible guess on a health site is worse than no answer. What we can tell you is which practices are on the Government's Medicare-eligible MRI list, and where healthdirect records that a provider bulk-bills.

scanfinder shows you where imaging is available. Your doctor decides which scan you need — you'll need a referral for all of these.
